Melrose Park celebrates our Family Fun Day!
Melrose Park Public School is pleased to celebrate our upcoming Family Fun Day on Saturday 3rd November, from 2 – 7pm. Look forward to a day of entertainment for the whole family, complete with rides, amusement and brilliant prizes on offer! Last year’s event was a resounding success, and we raised over $25, 000 for the school community. Find out which of last year’s favourite attractions are returning in 2018:
Rides and amusement
The dunk tank always guarantees gallons of laughter, so take aim and see if you can submerge your classmates! This year, we also have a range of exciting new rides at the Family Fun Day, including a horizontal bungee course, giant inflatable maze, rock-climbing wall, laser tag – and Melrose Park’s first ever rollercoaster. Prepaid wrist bands for ride entry can be purchased via the School Shop online.
Talent showcases
Family Fun Day is a perfect opportunity to showcase the many talents of Melrose Park students and their friends. This year, expect Irish and jazz dancing, recitals from the Melrose Park PS band, singing performances, along with martial arts and gymnastic demonstrations!
Food and stalls
Would any school fete be complete without delicious homemade treats? This year, we’re proud to present Melrose Park’s first ever bake-off, including categories for cake decorating and best in show. We’ll also be hosting a sausage sizzle, along with a number of gourmet and artisan food stalls.
Meanwhile, a second-hand book sale and slot-car racing game will provide old-fashioned carnival fun. Showbag stalls are also back by popular demand from our students, along with a Silent Auction for the grown-ups!
Raffles and prizes
Of course, this stellar event line-up wouldn’t be possible without the generosity and support of our community volunteers and sponsors. Our friends at Vuly Play have kindly donated a Lift 2 Large Trampoline to be raffled at the Family Fun Day! Valued at over $899, the Lift 2 is one of the safest trampolines on the Australian market today. It’s designed to weather changing outdoor conditions, and includes built-in safety features to protect the youngest members of our family. What an awesome prize to win!
